Got Ice? Save money with this “ice bucket” style cold trap. Fill the internal stainless steel reservoir with a cold slurry mix of ice / alcohol / dry ice and set inside the larger steel vessel. Made from 304 stainless steel, this is a rugged dry ice cold trap versus the cold finger glass-type cold trap. The cold surface of the trap attracts and condenses material that would otherwise be ingested by the vacuum pump.
Cold traps are a great way to extend the time between vacuum oven rebuilds and oil changes. With this style of a cold trap, the cold is provided by filling the interior reservoir with ice. No additional mechanical refrigeration or power is required.
Cascade also provides large KF-25 size inlets and outlet for the trap. This does not impede vapor flow.
