Moderna COVID Vaccine Storage Requirements Prior to Administration:
- Vaccine vials may be stored in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C (36°F and 46°F) for up to 30 days before vials are punctured
- After 30 days, remove any remaining vials from the refrigerator and discard following manufacturer and jurisdiction guidance on proper disposal
- Thawed vaccine cannot be refrozen
Pfizer COVID Vaccine Storage Requirements Prior to Administration:
- Before mixing, the vaccine may be stored in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C (36°F and 46°F) for up to 120 hours (5 days)
- After 120 hours (5 days), remove any remaining vials from the refrigerator and discard following the manufacturer’s and your jurisdiction’s guidance on proper disposal
J&J | Janssen COVID Vaccine Storage Requirements
The Janssen / J&J COVID-19 Vaccine is initially stored frozen by the manufacturer, then shipped at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). If vaccine is still frozen upon receipt, thaw at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). If needed immediately, thaw at room temperature (maximally 25°C/77°F). At room temperature (maximally 25°C/77°F), a carton of 10 vials will take approximately 2 hours to thaw, and an individual vial will take approximately 1 hour to thaw. Do not refreeze once thawed.
Storage After First Puncture of the Vaccine Vial
After the first dose has been withdrawn, hold the vial between 2° to 8°C (36° to 46°F) for up to 6 hours or at room temperature (maximally 25°C/77°F) for up to 2 hours. Discard the vial if vaccine is not used within these times.

Important!

Lab Refrigerator Additional Working Details:

- Keep freezer at least 12 inches from any walls or ceiling
