The Best Way to Calibrate a Vacuum Gauge, With and Without Pressure
The best way to calibrate a vacuum gauge when pressure is available is to compare it to a standard.
Without pressure, it becomes sensor specific. For example, we could read some resistances across the pins of the gauge and compensate for at least some differences from the ideal tube. We have talked about this at length amongst ourselves and with customers.
Some competitors claim to be able to calibrate by simply putting the gauge in the freezer. We’ve not been able to verify that one 🙂
